Al-Zawiya and West Coast Leaders Demand Interior Minister’s Removal

Following a meeting attended by various components of the Al-Zawiya and Western Coast regions to discuss the ongoing security tensions attributed to political conflicts, participants called on Prime Minister Abdel Hamid Dbeibeh to dismiss the acting Interior Minister, Imad Trabelsi, and relieve him of his duties.

The statement accused Trabelsi of being responsible for the security issues in Al-Zawiya and the Western Coast region. The participants expressed their dissatisfaction with the Interior Minister’s remarks, describing them as immature and blaming them for creating divisions among citizens and segregating the country into unfamiliar regions and ethnicities. They also demanded an apology from Trabelsi for these statements.
