Another Fatality in Al Kufra Due to Scorpion Sting

The Shahid Attia Al-Kasah Educational Hospital in Al Kufra has reported another death this year resulting from a scorpion sting. The latest victim, 12-year-old Abdul Karim Abu Bashir, succumbed to the venomous bite.

This incident follows the death of 4-year-old Yassin Abdul Rahman on May 26, who also fell victim to a scorpion sting. Mohamed Abu Shlef, media director of Al Kufra Hospital, confirmed these details to Fawasil Platform.

Abu Shlef projects that scorpion sting cases could reach 700-800 by year’s end, with approximately 500 cases already documented this year.

In response to the crisis, on May 25, the Medical Supply Agency and Medical and Therapeutic Services of the Benghazi government delivered 700 anti-scorpion venom serums and 50 anti-snake venom serums to Attia Al-Kasah Hospital in Al Kufra.
