Dbeibeh and Meloni Discuss Migration and Economic Cooperation in Phone Call

In a phone call on Wednesday evening, Libyan Prime Minister Abdel Hamid Dbeibeh and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni discussed key issues concerning migration, economic, and political cooperation between Libya and Italy, according to a statement from the Libyan government’s media office.

The conversation placed significant emphasis on the upcoming Mediterranean Migration Forum, scheduled to be held in Tripoli in mid-July. This forum aims to address the challenges posed by irregular migration and seek effective solutions.

Additionally, the leaders explored the possibility of establishing a framework to enhance dialogue and cooperation on migration between Africa and Europe. The discussion also covered various political and economic issues of mutual interest, though specific details were not disclosed.
