Saddam Haftar Discusses Enhancing Security Cooperation and Counterterrorism with AFRICOM

General Saddam Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Ground Forces in the General Command, met with John Brennan, Deputy Commander of the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM), to discuss strengthening joint cooperation in counterterrorism efforts. The discussions also focused on implementing joint training programs to bolster the Libyan forces’ capabilities in border security and curbing illegal migration.

The meeting, held in Benghazi, was attended by Jeremy Berndt, Acting U.S. Ambassador to Libya, Ronald Foy, Commander of Special Operations Command Africa, and senior officials from the Ground Forces General Staff.
