Waha Oil Company has signed a strategic partnership agreement with the global oil services company Schlumberger, aiming to boost the technical capabilities of local personnel in the oil and gas sector.
Schlumberger, a global leader in oil services, offers comprehensive solutions across all stages of oil field development. Their services include exploration and seismic surveys, drilling and well rehabilitation, specialized cementing, equipment and well logging services, as well as advanced reservoir and surface equipment flow studies.
As part of this partnership, horizontal wells have been drilled using advanced directional drilling techniques in the Daffa field, with assistance from Schlumberger experts.
Schlumberger is currently conducting advanced reservoir studies for Waha Oil fields, some of which are pioneering in Libya and the region. These include flow simulation analyses for surface facilities and risk studies for wax formation in the North Jalu field. This strategic field is expected to contribute approximately 100,000 barrels of oil per day to Waha Oil’s production in the coming years.
Additionally, Schlumberger is providing specialized training programs for Libyan engineers in reservoir simulation, utilizing advanced techniques and software in this field.
