Hamad Government Summons Sudanese Consul Over UN Envoy’s Remarks

Issa Abdul Majeed, Minister of African Affairs for the interim government, summoned Sudanese Consul to Libya, Abdul Rahman Al-Khair, to his office following remarks made by Sudan’s UN envoy, Al-Harith Idris, regarding Libya. The comments were delivered during the UN Security Council session last Tuesday.

Abdul Majeed expressed his government’s discontent with these remarks to the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, calling them irresponsible and based on reports from international organizations that have exacerbated conflicts in Libya and the region, including Sudan.

The minister emphasized that “Libya does not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries and has no connection to the internal conflicts in Sudan,” highlighting Libya’s readiness to lead any dialogue between the conflicting Sudanese parties.
